Though Ben Bolt led 21-8 at the half, the Pettus Eagles would not allow their Homecoming celebration to be spoiled.  Behind a stellar performance by McKinzie Torres (4 INT and 2 TD in the game) and the rest of the defense, the Eagles shut out the Badgers in the second half, outscoring them 22-0 in the final two periods.

The Pettus Varsity Football Team broke several school records on August 28, 2009 against the Shiner St. Paul Cardinals.  QB Ryan Beck (soph) passed for 318 yards in the first half alone.  This number was enough to break the previous single game record.  Beck finished with 3 passing TDs and no INTs.  Also, WR Hunter Tomlin (soph) tallied up 224 yards receiving, which shattered the previous single-game record.  Tomlin also scored two receiving TDs.  Another very bright spot for the Eagles was Andrew Parker (jr), who scored five touchdowns in the game: an 84 yard kick-off return on the game's opening kick, a 90 yard reception, and three rushing TDs.
